What is Modern Standard Arabic?+
Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), or al-fusha, is the standard form of Arabic used widely in education, books, news, public communication and formal writing across the Arab world.
Is MSA the same as Quranic Arabic?+
They share vocabulary and grammar, but they are not identical. MSA focuses on contemporary formal Arabic, while Quranic Arabic focuses on the language and structures used in the Qur’an. If understanding Qur’anic text is your main goal, choose our Arabic for Quranic Understanding course.
Will I learn Arabic grammar, Nahw and Sarf?+
